Covid-19 Infection Control

Important Information for your Appointment

I am pleased to say I am now open to face to face appointments and have put in place a number of changes to keep everyone safe.

As a therapist, health and safety is priority and I have always followed procedures to maintain high levels of hygiene and prevent cross infection.  Covid-19 has taken us to another level so I have made a number of changes to the way I work to protect us and keep us safe.  These changes comply with Government and Professional Guidelines.   Prior to re-opening I completed two courses for Covid-19 infection control with Jennifer Young, an infection control expert who works with cancer patients and Gateway Workshops.

New Covid-19 Appointment Procedures

For all appointments I will ask you to complete a 'Covid Pre Treatment Form’ 24 hours before your appointment.  I will ONLY be able to treat you if I have the completed and signed the form.

If you have any Covid-19 symptoms 14 days after your appointment or test positive, you must let me know ASAP.

YOU WILL NEED TO CANCEL IF:

  • You feel unwell or have a temperature on the day of your appointment (Cancellation fee will be waived for this).
  • You have experienced any Covid-19 symptoms or been tested positive within the 14 days leading up to your appointment.
  • You have been in contact with someone with Covid-19 in the last 14 days
  • Travelled on an airplane in the last 14 days.

 

Payments:

No cash please.  Payment can be made by bank transfer or online invoice payable by card.

As I am minimising contact during appointment, I prefer not to use my card machine as I need to access it through my mobile phone.

 

Please bring to your appointment:

  • Your own bottle of water.
  • Any medical or declaration forms I have requested from you.
  • Face Covering.  This is now required by law from 24th July 2020.
  • Please keep bags to a minimum if possible.  I understand this is not always possible e.g., if you are travelling from work.
  • Something to keep you warm.

On arrival I will ask you to wash your hands in the bathroom. Paper will be provided to dry your hands.  You may find it easier to put your face covering on then with clean hands.

Try to avoid touching door handles apart from the bathroom, I will open doors for you.

I will be wearing PPE in accordance with my guidelines and when not socially distancing.

I have removed the massage couch/reflexology chair covers and all blankets to minimise potential cross infection.  I will be using clean towels and sheets for each client, laundered to guidelines.

As the massage couch may be a little cold you may want to bring your own blanket or wear extra clothing as I am unable to use my blanket to cover you.  The couch will be disinfected before each client so your blanket will be safe.

Please try to arrive on time, I will be ready.  This helps with my cleaning schedule and I will get changed ready shortly before you arrive.

If you want me to open the communal door please let me know, I am happy to do this.

As clients will be pre-screened this will greatly reduce the risks of any infection.  Please try to keep a face to face distance of 2m where possible, or over 1m when not possible.  It is quite acceptable for you to face away when we are talking.
